September (for November 2026) New Comics Previews (plus catalogs)

November is all about change as Marvel closes out DNX and jumps right into Phoenix.  DC's absolute line hits the 25 issue mark for the big three, while Batman walks out of Bad Seeds and into Six Assassins. Image debut's Daniel Warren Johnson's forty ad-free page Chainkata, which may be the biggest Image launch of the year.

Absolute Batman: Beyond Ark M #1 (One-Shot)
DC Comics - November 11 - Scott Snyder & Frank Tieri (W), Francesco Francavilla (A)

Snyder and Tieri go back inside the Joker's empire of Arks with Francavilla on art and cover, extending the Ark M Special into what lurks beyond it. Francavilla drawing Absolute horror is the sales pitch in four words.

Image Comics -  November 18 - Daniel Warren Johnson (W/A)

Daniel Warren Johnson writes, draws, and covers Luma, a chainsaw-wielding warrior queen chasing an unknown power through space while violence chases her through every black hole. The solicit pitches it as Princess Mononoke meets Warhammer 40k and calls it the biggest launch of the year; the part that matters at the register is forty pages of story, no ads. Variants from Riley Rossmo and Rob Liefeld.

Swamp Thing is Killing the Children #1
BOOM! Entertainment - December 2 - James Tynion IV (W), Werther Dell'Edera (C/A)

Swamp Thing meet Slaughter! James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera, the superstar team behind the smash hit Something is Killing the Children, push the boundaries for the very first crossover story ever told in the fan-favorite Slaughterverse, as Erica Slaughter hunts down none other than the living embodiment of the Green - Swamp Thing himself!

Scott Pilgrim #1
Oni Press - November 11 - Bryan Lee O'Malley (W/A/C)

519 native (born right here in London Ontario) and multiple Eisner nominee Bryan Lee O'Malley returns to Scott Pilgrim for the first time since the bestselling series' conclusion! Features the complete 16-page DAWN OF METAL SCOTT prequel comic, plus never-before-seen extras!

Avengers #1
Marvel Comics - November 4 - Chip Zdarsky (W), Marco Checchetto (A/C)

Canadian Chip Zdarsky and (not Canadian, but still a good dude) artist Marco Checchetto reunite after Daredevil for the flagship relaunch out of Avengers: Armageddon, with the world order rewritten and a roster of Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Luke Cage and one hero Marvel is still holding back. Marvel is branding them Earth's Mightiest Survivors, and the launch gets the True Believers blind-bag treatment.

Exquisite Corpses: Lone Gunman #1 (of 5)
Image Comics - November 4 - Pornsak Pichetshote (W), Alberto Ponticelli & Jordie Bellaire (A)

Pornsak Pichetshote follows up the series that put him at #5 on this week's writer rankings. Two years after Laura's game-winning run as the Last Gunman, the legacy of the golden mask comes calling. The variant roster is a chart reunion on its own: Rafael Albuquerque and Sebastián Fiumara are both on this week's boards.

Predator vs. Punisher #1 (of 4)
Marvel Comics - Frank Tieri (W), Jesús Saíz (A)

The first-ever meeting: a Predator lands in New York looking for worthy prey and finds Frank Castle mid-war, with Kingpin, Jigsaw, Silvermane, and the Owl caught between two body counts. Alex Maleev is among the variant artists, which suits the material.

Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane #1 (of 5)
Marvel Comics - Ashley Allen (W), Phil Noto (A)

Ashley Allen and Phil Noto open Watson Productions: MJ as producer, Chameleon as saboteur, and a top-secret gift from Venom in her back pocket. Allen is everywhere this month - she also writes X-Orcists #1 in the Big One above, and her Tomb of Apocalypse mini continues.

Gangs of Gotham #1 (One-Shot)
DC Comics - November 4 - Christopher Cantwell (W), Mike Henderson (A)

Anarky gets the spotlight and an ultimatum: unify Gotham's hundred stray street gangs for the Torus, or die. It spins straight out of the Torus storyline running through Batman.

Spider-Woman #1
Marvel Comics - November 4 - Dan Watters (W), Andrea Broccardo (A)

Jessica Drew's 50th-anniversary relaunch, with old foes back from the dead and a bloodthirsty Carnage barely kept contained. Marvel pairs it the same month with a facsimile of Marvel Spotlight #32, her 1977 debut.

Dungeons & Dragons #1
Dark Horse - November 4 - Jackson Lanzing & Collin Kelly (W), Ibraim Roberson (A)

Flagged in last month's "Announced, not yet solicited," now on the order form. A depowered Mordenkainen stands at the center of a draconic apocalypse, with Volo and Tasha among the recruits and an Esad Ribić Cover A. 

Every issue carries exclusive game assets or essays — Erika Ishii of Dimension 20 writes the backmatter in #1.

Don't Miss:

Midnight month two, the Marvel Midnight titles roll on into November, with second issues of Midnight Fantastic Four, Midnight Spider-Man and Midnight X-Men.

It's the most exciting Marvel initiative since the original Ultimate line, and it's got a ton of buzz around it!  Marvel gave us a preview copy to read of all 3 titles, and they were great!
